Introduction
The Pre-Vocational Programme at Saint Clare School for Special Education supports young adults aged 22 to 30 years as they transition from structured learning to real-world environments. This stage focuses on equipping students with the practical skills, confidence, and adaptability they need to participate meaningfully in work and community life.
Our programme combines work-readiness training, daily living skills, and community-based experiences that prepare students for greater independence. Each participant follows an individualised learning plan tailored to their strengths, abilities, and long-term goals, ensuring progress that is both achievable and empowering.
Key Focus Areas
- Practical Work-Readiness: Training in basic workplace routines, teamwork, punctuality, and task responsibility.
- Daily Living Skills: Lessons in time management, money handling, personal care, and household management.
- Communication & Social Skills: Building confidence in interacting with supervisors, colleagues, and peers in different environments.
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Encouraging flexibility and resilience when faced with new or challenging situations.
- Real-World Application: Opportunities to apply learned skills through on-site workshops, community involvement, or supported work placements.
Our educators, therapists, and job coaches provide continuous guidance and encouragement, ensuring each student feels supported while learning to take initiative. Every success—no matter how small—is a step toward self-reliance, pride, and purpose.
