Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapy

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapy

Building Skills and Encouraging Positive Behaviour Through ABA Therapy

At Saint Clare School, our Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapy services are a key part of the holistic support we provide to students with special needs. With the guidance of our in-house ABA therapists, students learn essential skills while developing positive behaviours that help them thrive in school, at home, and in daily life.

ABA therapy focuses on understanding how behaviours are influenced by the environment and how learning takes place, giving children structured, supportive opportunities to succeed and gain confidence.

What Our ABA Sessions Focus On

Our ABA support is personalised for each child, aligned with their Individualised Education Programme (IEP) but conducted separately. Students who require ABA therapy attend pull-out sessions outside their regular classes. Depending on the student’s needs, therapy may focus on:

  • Communication Skills – improving verbal and non-verbal interaction

  • Social Skills – learning to share, cooperate, and respond appropriately in different settings

  • Behaviour Guidance – encouraging positive behaviours and reducing challenging ones

  • Daily Living Skills – supporting independence in self-care and routines

  • Learning and Academic Readiness – building focus, task completion, and problem-solving abilities

How Therapy Is Delivered

ABA therapy is provided through scheduled sessions during the school day. Our therapists work with students individually in a structured setting, allowing focused support tailored to each child’s goals. This approach enables students to learn and practise skills in a dedicated environment, while teachers and therapists work closely together to ensure these skills are reinforced and applied back in the classroom.

Why ABA Therapy Matters

Every child learns differently, and some need more than academic support to reach their potential. ABA therapy helps remove behavioural and learning barriers, giving students the confidence, independence, and positive habits they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
